An estimated mintage of 17,500 McKinley gold dollars dated 1903 saw only indifferent acceptance at its $3.00 purchase price as offered by Farran Zerbe. Most of the coins sold are in high grades today, led by a few high-end Superb Gems such as this extremely sharp and attractive example. Fulsome mint luster glows from the finely grained, rich-gold surfaces. Census: 26 in 67+, 1 in 67★, 1 in 67+★, 12 finer (2/24).
