Bronze sestertius, AD 37-38. Rome.
Obv: C•CAESAR•AVG•GERMANICVS•P•M•TR•POT, Pietas seated left, holding patera and resting arm on small draped figure standing facing; PIETAS in exergue. Rev: front view of hexastyle garlanded temple of Divus Augustus, pediment decorated with sacrificial scene, and with quadriga and Victories as acroteria, and statues of Romulus and Aeneas along roof line; in front, Emperor, veiled and togate, sacrificing with patera over garlanded altar right, flanked by victimarius holding bull for sacrifice and attendant holding a patera; DIVO-AVG S-C across fields.
