Graded PCGS AU Details., Laureate head of the king to the right, wearing a large wig; below the letter of the mint and the date., Cross formed by four groups of two Ls leaning and crowned, cantoned by four lis diverging from the centre; in heart, a sun., A very rare example of a Double Louis d'or, dated 1712 for the Paris mint (A). This is the last Double Louis d'Or to have undergone a massive reform and recasting with the succession of Louis XV, its rarity is explained by the fact that these coins were very little hoarded, and are now very rare. There is a small flan defect at 9 o'clock on the observe, which appeared before the strike, when the coin was laminated; the letters of the legend were struck above it. At 1 o'clock, there is a slight break on the flan, otherwise a magnificent example. This beautiful portrait of the king represents him in the twilight of his life, he who shaped most of the current borders of France by his conquest of the Spanish Netherlands in the North and the territories of the East.

Gradée PCGS AU Details., Tête laurée du roi à droite, portant une grande perruque ; au-dessous la lettre d'atelier et le millésime., Croix formée de quatre groupes de deux L adossés et couronnés, cantonnée de quatre lis divergeant du centre ; en cœur, un soleil., Exemplaire très rare d'un Double Louis d'or, daté de 1712 pour l'atelier de Paris (A). C'est le dernier Double Louis d'or à avoir subi une réformation et une refonte massive avec la succession de Louis XV, sa rareté s'explique par le fait que ces monnaies ont été très peu thésaurisées, et elles sont aujourd'hui très rare. On constate un petit défaut de flan à 9h au droit, apparu avant la frappe, au moment du laminage de la monnaie, les lettres de la légende ont été frappées au-dessus. A 1h, un léger éclatement du flan, sinon un magnifique exemplaire. Ce très beau portrait du roi le représente au crépuscule de sa vie, lui qui a façonné une partie des frontières actuelles de la France par sa conquête des Pays-Bas Espagnols au Nord et des territoires de l' Est.
