MYSIA, Kyzikos. Mid 3rd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (31mm, 16.45 g, 12h). In the name and types of Lysimachos of Thrace. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; monogram to inner left; fish hook(?) in exergue. CNG E-324, lot 91 (same dies) otherwise, unpublished, but obverse dies by the same engraver are known for Lysimachi from Kyzikos: cf. SNG France 2523–4 and G.K. Jenkins, "A Hellenistic Hoard from Mesopotamia," MN 13 (1967), 39; also see CNG E-322, lot 213 for a very similar coin with the same symbol in the exergue, but a different monogram. Bent flan, multiple stress cracks; fragile. Good VF. Rare.
