POTTERY. Magna Graecia. Apulia. 6th-4th Cent. BCE. (140 mm tall x 150 mm wide). Blackware kantharos with squat ribbed foot meeting tapered body that flares out and tapers back in a bit at neck. The neck is extremely squat, met by a large, trumpeted lip. Two high rising handles extend from either side with knobs at top, terminating mid body. The body has minor ribbing and is incised mid body with a double line. Great patina. Large crack at one side, however the piece is intact and nice in appearance.

From the Sand Collection.
