[AE]LPINE ON P[EVE], plain cross voided with a mullet in each angle, 1.23g [19.0grns], 8h (North 878; BMC II; Spink 1280), the reverse typically off centre for strike, with usual areas of striking weakness, the key devices otherwise bolder for issue, the important moneyer-mint signature distinct, approaching very fine, very rare.
