ICELAND. Islands Banki. 50 Kronur, 1904. P-12.
(Sieg 17) A note which is certainly the highlight of this comprehensive collection of banknotes from Iceland. This powerful 50 Kronur design shows the engraving mastery of Giesecke & Devrient. A far larger format than the 10 Kronur note and showing with King Christian IX at left and active volcano at right. Large vanity style left banking signature with right being more controlled. Deep red and blue under-printed design styling. Back design seen colorful and busy with intricate lathe work in purple, red and blue throughout. "50" counter at left and bird in shield at right. A few minor flecks of rust are observed along with some other minor stains. Overall incredible appeal is had with this century and a decade old note from Iceland. PMG Very Fine 25 Net. Minor Rust, Stains.
