GREAT BRITAIN. Bronze Penny Reverse Trial Strike, ND (1860).
222.97 mm; 81.69 gms. Peck-2044 (Plate coin: Plate 49, P). An interesting trial strike for the reverse of an 1860 Penny. Brittania seated right, holding trident in left hand and resting right hand on shield, without legend date, signature or border. The lighthouse is without windows or masonry, and the ship is without ports. It is obvious from the details that this is a trial from an uncompleted die (one of the first five reverse types). Probably unique. EXTREMELY FINE.
