Charles I, 'Forlorn Hope' portrait, an openwork cast and chased uniface silver badge, circa 1649, by or after Thomas Rawlins; King's bust threequarters right, wearing stellate lace collar and neck riband over armour, within wreath border, 7.1g, 46.5 x 32.5mm (M.I. I/368/253 and cf. I/301/122, I/368/254; cf. Platt vol. I, p. 298, type B), with suspension rings and reverse fitted with two rivets in the manner of comparable known examples, with an old scratch or flaw at King's forehead and right eye, very fine Provenance: Believed to have belonged at one time to Helen Farquhar; Christopher Foley, Woolley and Wallis, 16 October 2014, lot 326; Paul Christensen collection.
