ACHAEMENID PERSIA. Ca. 333-331 BC. AV daric (16mm, 8.30 gm). NGC VF 5/5 - 2/5, ex-jewelry, marks. Babylonia. Persian king or hero, wearing cidaris and candys, quiver over left shoulder, in kneeling-running stance right, dagger pointed at waist in right hand, bow forward in left / Geometric-patterned punch in incuse circle. Carradice Type IV Late (pl. XV, 52) (375-336 BC). BMC Arabia pl. XXVII, 17. Sunrise 39 (375-336 BC). Attractive, bold details on a warm butterscotch flan. As noted on the holder this may be an Alexandrine Empire type minted in Babylonia (ca. 328-311 BC), imitating the Achaemenid issues.
