MÉXICO. KM# 103 (A&C# 1453) M8-39 – 8 Reales 1739 Mo MF. NGC AU. Saltwater Damage.- Proveniente del Naufragio Reijgersdaal; un barco mercante de la "Dutch East India Company" el cual se hundió el 25 de Octubre de 1747 frente a las costas de Sudáfrica con alrededor de 30,000 monedas acuñadas en América, aunque se recuperaron algunas macuquinas, la mayoría de las piezas fueron columnarios acuñados en la ceca de México. Buena acuñación y preservación de relieves por ambas caras, ligera y casi homogénea corrosión marina. Muy complicado adquirir con esta calidad y aspecto. Slab con etiqueta de naufragio.

From the Reijgersdaal Shipwreck; a merchant ship of the Dutch East India Company which sank on October 25, 1747 off the coast of South Africa with about 30,000 coins struck in America, although some Cobs were recovered, most of the pieces recovered were pillar coins struck at the Mexican mint. Good struck and preservation of reliefs on both sides, light and almost homogeneous marine corrosion. Very difficult to acquire with this quality and appearance. Slab with shipwreck label
