Justinian I. 527-565. AV Solidus (21mm, 4.48 g, 6h). Constantinople mint, 9th officina. Struck 542-565. Helmeted and cuirassed bust facing, holding globus cruciger and shield / Angel standing facing, holding long staff surmounted by staurogram and globus cruciger; star to right; Θ//CONOB. DOC 9i; MIBE 7; SB 140. Toned, faint "H" graffito, minor marks, some small digs and scratches, thin scrape on reverse, light deposits. Good VF. A wonderful bust.
