Pontus, Nicopolis Ad Lycum. Lucius Verus, AE (23,5 mm. 9,7 g.). AD 161-162. year 91 =161-162 AD. ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑ ΟΥΗΡΟC CEΒ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus to right. Rev. [N]EIKOΠ-Ο-ΛΙΤΩΝ / EΤ ϞΑ Zeus seated left, holding Nike in right hand, scepter in left. BMC 3 corr (Nicopolis-Emmaus in Judaea). RPC IV Online 6366. SNG von Aulock 6792 (as Armenia Minor, Nicopolis). An extremely rare coin from an extremely rare mint, and much nicer than the BMC specimen illustrated in RPC very similar grade to Obolos 16, lot 976. Nice brown natural patina. Good Very Fine.
