Kings of Macedon. Alexander III the Great, 336-323 BC. AR Drachm (18mm. 4,06g.). Struck under the rule of Philip III Arrhidaios from Menander of Kleitos, in the name and types of Alexander III. 'Kolophon', circa 322-319 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Zeus Aëtophoros seated to left, holding sceptre; AΛEΞANΔPOY to right, combined kerykeion-monogram in left field, star below throne, spearhead in outer right field. Price 1758. Insignificant scratch on the reverse, otherwise, Good Fery Fine, sympathetically diagonally toned. Very Rare variety one from a very few known vgl. Roma Numismatics Ltd., E-Sale 93, Lot 329.
