KOREA. The Order of the Taeguk, Undermined Class Badge.
52 x 71.5 mm. Gilt Silver. Typical clockwise Taeguk with clear enamels over faceted metal as produced by European makers, but the suspension inscription is on both sides, and does not match those on any of the standard issues. The ribbon is correct. Similar to Peterson 220-225; Werlich-823. An attractive order based on the Japanese order of the Rising Sun. The enamels are fine and complete, however the gilding near the center of the order is beginning to deteriorate in spots.

EXTREMELY FINE.

From the Craig Collection.
