BYZANTINE EMPIRE. Ca. 8th to 10th Centuries AD. Pair of Gilt Silver Earring (44mm, 13.92 and 13.80 gm). Two earrings, nearly fully intact, made of gilt silver. Elaborately designed with twisted silver banded hoops and a larger spherical base. The hoop on one is misting part of the metal but appears to be able to be repaired; the other nearly as made.
