Tortola 1/2 Dollar ND (1801) Fine, KM7, Prid-1. Authorized by local Act dated February 3, 1801. A 1/2 segment of a Spanish colonial 8 Reales countermarked with "Tortola" type I stamp (intermediate die state, with some damage to the punch). Base coin Good, counterstamp Very Fine. The original official issue identified by the "Tortola" stamp, much scarcer than the later "Tirtila" one.
