Province of Canada. Bank of Montreal Mule Penny Token 1837 (1842) MS65 Red and Brown NGC, Charlton-PC2A1 - 1842 obverse, PC2B (Br-526) muled with the reverse of LC-9A (Br-521). Struck in copper, with medal die axis. A rarity in the Canadian token series with significant amount of red color around the protected devices and a sharp strike on both sides. Close inspection of the surfaces easily confirms the Gem designation.
