Republic gold 8 Escudos 1849 So-ML XF45 NGC, Santiago mint, KM105, Fr-41. A decent type coin with limited wear and contact marks and no planchet flaws worth mentioning. Starting in 1843, the Santiago mint included the corresponding month on each coin in the 8 Escudos' series. Rather than the date in which the coin was struck, the month indicates the date in which the gold entered the mint. The month indicated in the current specimen is Diciembre.
