Kiau Chau. German Colonial Proof 5 Cents 1909 PR66 NGC, Berlin mint, Kann-873, KM1. Obv. Crowned German eagle, with wings spread, dividing the value "5-Cent" with the date 1909 below, around is the legend DEUTSCH KAUTSCHOU GEBIET. Rev. All in Chinese, in an inner ring four characters meaning, "German Coin," and around the inner ring two upper characters standing for, "Tsingtao," one each left and right meaning, "5 Cents," and nine characters below meaning, "Each 20 pieces (are) equal to 1 Dollar big money." The condition is superb, with deeply mirrored fields, frosted devices and surfaces free of notable flaws. Quite rare in this condition.
