Republic gilt-bronze Medellin 20 Pesos Proof Obverse & Reverse Essai Trial Strikes 1873 both PR64 NGC, struck at the Paris mint, engraved by Albert Barre with a tiny A.B. below the bust on the obverse, plain edge, NGC has switched the "Obverse," and "Reverse," labeling on the holders, as Restrepo p. 207, #76, KM-TS11 & TS12. Both have full mint brilliance, with golden, minimally marked, satiny surfaces. This was an unadopted design, and this is the only separated pair of these trials we have seen. There was a fused pair of the trials in a 2011 Daniel Frank Sedwick Auction, but separated, or fused, these 20 Peso trial strikes are extremely rare.
