Louis XII (1498-1514) gold Écu d'or au porc-épic ND MS62 NGC, Lyon mint, from 19 November 1507, Fr-325, Dup-655. + LVdOVICVS : dEI : GRACIA : FRANCORVM : REX (clover with star below), crowned arms of France flanked by two porcupines, a pellet beneath the 12th letter / + XPS : VINCIT : XPS : REGNAT : XPS : IMPERAT (clover with pellet below), cross patonce with L's and porcupines in alternating quarters. A bright example with light reddish tone at the edges, well-struck despite a touch of weakness to the right obverse porcupine and the corresponding one on the reverse. A scarce offering in this state of preservation.
