Napoleon gold 40 Francs 1812-A MS63 NGC, Paris mint, KM696.1. Set in splendid yellow-gold with radiant, eye-capturing luster throughout the obverse and reverse fields and relatively few marks that enter the surfaces. While not a significant deterrent to the appearance, several faint planchet adjustment marks, resulting from the overzealous pre-strike "correcting" of the planchet, are still faintly visible near portions of the reverse edges and centers. A choice coin, especially when the typical survivor is considered.
