Edward the Elder (899-924) Penny ND AU55 NGC, Æthelstan as moneyer, S-1087, North-649. + EADVVEARD REX, small cross pattée / ÆÐELS | TΛN Mō, moneyer name in two lines with three crosses between. Well-struck with near-complete upset rims and appealing cabinet tone. Minor softness may be observed in the obverse legends, although the moneyer and central motifs are quite sharp.
