Kings of All England. Cnut (1016-35) Penny c.1017-23 MS65 NGC, Winchester mint, Leofstan as moneyer, S-1157, North-781. + CNVT REX ΛNGLΘRV, crowned bust left within quatrefoil / + LEΘ | FSTΛ | N ΘN | PINCE, voided long cross with crescent ends over quatrefoil with pellet at each apex. Simply stunning! Near-perfectly centered on a fully-round flan, soft luster is evident beneath vibrant iridescent tone. The strike is even, resulting in remarkably sharp details throughout. A relatively common Anglo-Saxon type, but very rarely offered in such a state of preservation.
