Kings of All England. Harold (1035-40) Penny c.1036-38 VF30 NGC, Lincoln mint, Swartbrand as moneyer, S-1163 (NGC incorrectly attributes this piece to Harthacnut), North-802 (R). + HAR | OLD REX, diademed bust left / SPARTEBRAND O LIN, cross of four ovals joined by two circles enclosing a pellet. Handsomely toned with light handling marks and an area of striking weakness behind the bust which corresponds to an arm of the cross on the reverse. A rare type minted for a short period of joint rule in the English kingdom.
