Great Britain
Charles I gold Unite ND (1625) AU55 NGC, S-2685, First bust in coronation robes, Tower mint, Lis mm. A remarkably appealing example with a phenomenal, well-centered strike and a significant amount of original mint bloom. The features on the bust and robes are well-defined and the intricate detail on the crown, superb. The reverse boasts a strong central motif that softens as it extends left of the shield but then regains its strength at the periphery. Despite recently encountered raw examples that are close competitors, this is currently one of only two coins certified in this grade, with none finer.
Estimate: 4000-5000 USD
