A remarkable and extremely rare example featuring the bust of Thomas Burgers, the second president of the Republic, with flagged arms above banner. Brilliantly bold with rose-gold surfaces and impeccable detail down to each one of the eagle's feathers. As a one-year type, this coarse-beard variety has a scant mintage of only 174 pieces, most of which were turned into jewelry or kept as pocket-pieces, so the fact that any remain in this designation or better is truly a rare occurrence.
