Alfonso XIII "Catalan Union" 5 Pesetas 1900 MS65 NGC, Barcelona mint, Cal-89. Gem Mint State and fully lustrous with clear evidence of die-polishing in the surfaces. Struck in 1900 by the regionalist Unio Catalanista to the standard of the Spanish 5 Pesetas denomination. A very popular issue, rare and desirable in higher grades. The present example is the finest seen by the cataloger and should attract serious interest. The insert mistakenly describes the present example as a Peseta instead of a 5 Pesetas.
