Republic "Female Sunface" 40 Centesimos 1844 AU58 Brown NGC, Montevideo mint, KM4, Almeida-18. An incredibly well detailed and desirable specimen of this rare type, usually encountered in truly awful condition. This specimen - currently the highest graded by NGC - and two or three other pieces are the exception. It is certainly among the finest known, with a most appealing definition in the female head on the obverse.
