Titus (AD 79-81). AR fourreé denarius (3.15 gm). Judaea Capta issue. Rome, June-July AD 79. Laureate head of Titus right / Trophy; below, captive Jew kneeling right. RIC II 1. RSC 334a. Rare. Dark iridescent toning. NGC Choice VF 5/5 - 4/5. Though classified as a contemporary plated forgery (fourreé) by NGC, this coin displays no outright breaks in the silver plating. However there is a slight "bubble" in the surface before Titus's face, and the weight is on the low end of the scale, so NGC's call is likely accurate.
