Barred IC - XC, Christ Pantocrator enthroned facing on square-backed throne, with cruciform nimbus, single pellet in each bar of cross, raising right hand in benediction, holding book of Gospels cradled in left arm / + NIKHΦ ΔΕC-П Tω ROTANIAT, full figure of of Nicephorus standing facing, wearing crown and loros, holding jeweled vexillum with plain shaft in right hand and globus cruciger in left.
