Alexius I Comnenus (1081-1118). AR histamenon nomisma (29mm, 4.12 gm, 6h). Constantinople, pre-reform coinage, 1081-1092. Barred IC - XC, half-length bust Christ Pantocrator, with cruciform nimbus, two pellets in each arm of cross, holding Book of Gospels cradled in left arm / +AΛEXIω ΔEC – ΠOT, crowned facing bust of Alexius, wearing divitision and chlamys, holding cruciform scepter with floral ornaments in right hand and globus cruciger in left.
