Pedro II lot of Coronation Medals 1841, VC-35, 36, 37, Meili-15, 16, 17. A lot of Pedro II Coronation Medals  engraved by Taylor and Sturz, all dated 1841, as follows: white metal (VC-35, About Uncirculated, 42mm, 19 grams, the early type with the horseman and the PRO DOMINE PETRO SEGUNDO legend not centrally aligned on the reverse), white metal (VC-36, About Uncirculated, 42mm, 28.53 grams, later type with the horseman and legend centrally aligned on reverse), white metal (VC-37, Mint State with one minor edge bump on reverse, 42mm, 31.85 grams, type with the Pocrane Indian chief on reverse), copper (VC-37, Mint State, 42mm, 31.73 grams, similar to last), bronze (VC-37, Extremely Fine, 41mm, 28.09 grams, similar to last and a later cast).Pockrane was a native Borocotudo Indian converted to Catholicism by colonist (and administrator of the Rio Doce area in Minas Gerais) Guido Marliere. He would later become his right-hand man in the latter's efforts to eliminate conflicts between Indian and colonists in the early 19 sup th /sup century, and as such a symbol of pacific cohabitation between those factions.  A scarce and most interesting group.
