Cuba
Group of 22 Dated Tokens, Group of 22 pieces includes eight in brass and 14 in copper-nickel (CuNi) with all being between 19 and 32 mm. in diameter. A brass 1886 of La Soledad and Manuel L Barillas may be the most appealing single item in this Cuban collection; attractive design and nearly mint state with obvious luster. Identical pair of Banes 1888 Una Racion are Rulau Ori -8, Pesant 703 and Eklund 2065. Spain's Alfonso XIII is on 1891 dated Rulau Hav -88. Havana Cocinas Un Centavo 1896 features Madonna and children. Identical high-quality pair of Rulau Ori- 101 are also Pesant 1106a with date 1897 only on backside. Final brass is 1930-dated 10 Centavos of a dancing salon. Earliest date on a CuNi issue is 1876 with upright barrel shown as Rulau Mat -51. Other items are dated 1881, 1884 and then an 1890 set of three for Gibara's Ingenio Victoria shown by Rulau's Ori -36 +38 +39. Then a single Rulau Hav -342 Tienda Trinidad 20 ¢ dated 1890 is followed by single issues dated 1891 and 1895. The popular Luis Redor locomotive type is represented by a 10¢ and 20¢ plus a pair of the large diameter 50 Centavos shown by Rulau as Ori -56. Final CuNi issue is a 1925 Masonic medal valued by Rulau in EF at $85 under his Ori -65. Overall both the numismatic appeal and quality level of this lot is clearly greater than the prior two selections. Quality is mostly quite nice albeit mostly clearly circulated or handled. SOLD AS IS, NO RETURN.
