Honduras
Republic 10 Centavos 1889 Choice AU, KM49. Excepting the currently-unique 1897, this 1889 dated piece is tied with the 1900 for the most elusive of the silver Liberty type. There are about 10 known of this date and this one is likely tied with two others for "finest extant". The striking detail is exceptional, particularly for the 1889 piece whose population included Dana Robert's unattractive low-grade piece, of crude rendition, sold in April 2012. While not lustrous, perhaps because the mint was not capable of such that year, this piece has a minor edge-milling-machine flaw but is clearly very nearly mint state.
Estimate: 1000-1500 USD
