MUGHAL: Jahangir, 1605-1628, AR square rupee (10.81g), [Bangala], ND, KM--, royal legend of Jahangir / kalima, with 3-part banner to the left, 2 testmarks, VF to EF, RRR. Unpublished in any major catalog. This piece resembles the standard Bangala type of Akbar (KM-86, PMLu-362/364, known dated AH1018, i.e., three years into the reign of Jahangir), but with the obverse couplet replaced by the royal text of Jahangir, nur al-din jahangir padishah ghazi,, and with the same standard calligraphy of the Bangala mint, as on the earlier coins of Akbar.
