LüBECK (CITY): Freie und Reichsstädte, AR 2 schilling (3.40g), [15]63, KM-MB128, Behr. 362b, Jesse-649, St. John holding lamb, decent strike, VF. Lübeck became a city in 1163, and in 1226, Frederick II gave the city of Lübeck the status of Imperial Free City. Although the city of Lübeck was granted the mint right in 1188, its city coinage didn't begin until about 1350.
