BYZANTINE EMPIRE:HOARD of 165 copper coins, mostly Byzantine 6th to 7th century, including some Arab-Byzantine imitative types, as well as a few Roman and later Byzantine pieces, likely average circulated quality, lot of 165 pieces. These pieces have never been cleaned, and at least a few dozen will likely emerge as decent pieces after appropriate conservation. The group is said to have come from a single site somewhere in the Levant, perhaps Syria, Lebanon or Israel, but that cannot be confirmed. This should be a fascinating lot for anyone dedicated to ancient coins and their conservation.
