CH'ING: Qian Long, 1736-1795, AE charm, CCH-402, 55mm, qian long zhong bao, dragon & phoenix charm, bao qun on reverse, Fine to VF. The symbol of the dragon is used to represent the emperor and the phoenix to represent the empress and together they represent both aspects of imperial power. A similar example sold in China Guardian (Zhongguó jiadé) Auction Fall 2013 Lot 65 for RMB 10,000. Photo size reduced. Casting style, metal, and calligraphy indicate this was likely produced during the Qing dynasty. Photo size reduced.
