ASIA MINOR, Uncertain. 5th century BC. AR Tetartemorion (5mm, 0.12 g). Eagle(?) standing left / Stellate pattern with incuse square. Cf. SNG Ashmolean 953 (Abydos, trihemiobol(?), quadripartite incuse reverse); Klein –; Rosen –. Near VF, find patina, granular surfaces. Rare.

This rare fraction is possibly from Abydos in Troas. The standing eagle is a well known obverse type for Abydos. Additionally, Abydos was a Milesian colony, and the reverse type of a stellate pattern is similar to coins of Miletos.
