Silver bow fibula. Roman, probably Gaul, 1st–2nd centuries AD. Bow–type fibula with openwork arch terminating in head of a wolf or dog before terminal knob decorated with a pattern of pentagons. Two additional knobs at hinge, arch decorated with a series a modern globules. Pin is fixed. Maximum length: 46cm. See N. Mills, Celtic & Roman Artefacts R77 for similar. Repaired and restored, with globules added to conceal restoration.
