Gold stater mid-3rd century BC, unknown mint. 8,44 g. An extremely interesting example of parallel coinage to the Philip staters with clear portrait facial features. It is probably not the usurper Andriskos as Caramessini-O. suggests, but a local ruler in Asia Minor, perhaps even Eumenes I. of Pergamon.Ex Auction UBS 52, Zurich. September 11, 2001. Lot 39.
