Extremely fine and rare. (3)
The practice of formal mourning culminated during the reign of Queen Victoria, whose period of grief over the death of Prince Albert was long and conspicuous. Following the death of the Queen herself, this suite of medals will have been commissioned to be worn as mourning jewellery.
