COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS, WORLD MEDALS, Netherlands, Shepherdess on a swing, rectangular Gilt-bronze Plaquette, second half of the 18th Century, a wooded arbour within baroque scrolls, she swings high, the swing pulled by her lover, trees left and right, sheep under the latter, love-birds at top, 69mm x 86mm. A delightful piece, probably intended as a box-lid, good very fine.
The image is remindful of Fragonard's Les Hasards Heureux de l'Escarpolette of 1767, though without a third person present, perhaps more pastoral.
