COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS, WORLD MEDALS, United States of America, Admiral Edward Vernon, Commodore Charles Brown and Sir Robert Walpole, Bronze or Pinchbeck Medal, undated (1741), standing figures of Vernon and Brown clasp hands, crown above, ship below, THE BRITISH GLORY REVIV'D, rev the Devil leads Walpole with a rope around his neck, towards the mouth of the "infernal beast", MAKE WAY FOR SIR ROBERT, in exergue NO EXCISE, 37.5mm (MI 561/191; Adams Chao NLv 8-G, R5; M-G 18; Betts 246; MH 326). A superb specimen, virtually mint state and extremely rare thus.
