Leicestershire. Elmsthorpe 1/2 Penny 1800 MS63 Brown NGC, DH-2, E: Plain. A key issue within the Conder Token series, the present type shows the ruins of Elmsthorpe Church on the obverse with a plow and wheatsheaf on the reverse. Rarely offered, the last example we have been able to trace, a good very fine, sold at DNW in October of 2010 for £750. Given the clear superiority of the present example, we would expect that number to be eclipsed in the present sale.
