Edward the Confessor (1042-66), Penny, 1.10g, pyramids type, Winchester, Leofwold, crowned bust right, sceptre before, rev. +leofpold on pc, voided short cross, arms extending from a central annulet, pellet tipped pile in each angle (N.831; S.1184), hint of edge loss at 12 o'clock, crack, no light visible, running from face to edge of coin beneath drapery, die flaw to reverse, very fine, an interesting style of bust which is much more reminiscent of Harold II's Pax type.
