George IV, sovereign, 1830, struck en médaille, bare head l., rev. crowned shield of arms (S.3801), good fine * ex St. James's Auction 4, 8 May 2006 (lot 362) ex Bentley Collection, Baldwin's Auction 76, 27 September 2012 (lot 393) The Bentley catalogue describes the rarity of the coin in some detail pointing out that coins of this period sharing a common upright are normally limited to proof or specimen pieces (cf. Bentley lot 957). Medals, however, were often struck this way.
