GREEK COINS
Thessaly

Trikka, c. 440-400 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 16mm, 2.72 g 10). Youthful hero, Thessalos, nude but for cloak and petasos hanging over his shoulder, striding right, holding a band in both his hands around the head of the forepart of a bull moving right. Rev. ΤΡΙΚ-ΚΑΙ-Ο[Ν] (retrograde, starting on the bottom left) Forepart of bridled horse to right, his head turned very slightly to front; all within very shallow incuse circle. CNG Esale 254, April 2011, 81 (same dies). Toned and well struck, but with some deposits and scratches. Good very fine.
